Shoulders
Due to the complex nature and functional and anatomical relationship with the spine, shoulder pain can be caused by multiple factors.
The movements of the shoulder are generated by a set of joints that make it one of the most complex structures of the human body. Due to its complex nature and functional and anatomical relationship to the spine, shoulder pain may originate from a variety of sources (at or near the joint itself).
Handwork, sports, poor posture during sleep or even repeated movements are some of the conditions that can cause pain in this joint. Some diseases of the cervical spine, neck, liver, heart or gallbladder disease can also cause shoulder pain.
Chiropractic helps in the treatment of shoulder dysfunctions, and may even help in those conditions initially considered surgical.
Here are some of the conditions where Chiropractic care can help:
Degenerative Processes:
- Rotator cuff injuries
- Arthrosis/Arthritis
- Bursitis
- Tendinopathy
- Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)
Traumatic Injuries:
- Post-traumatic pain (fall on the shoulder)
- Accidents with impact on the joint
- Post-surgical pain
- Decreased range of motion
Muscle Injuries:
- Repetitive stress injuries (RSI)
- Tension
- Contracture
- Overload
- Muscle imbalances
